About Dr. Padela
Muhammad T. Padela, MD, MSc
Orthopedic Surgeon for Adults and Children
Fellowship trained in spine surgery and in hip and knee replacement.

Trained in spine surgery and in hip and knee replacement
Dr. Padela is an orthopedic surgeon in Sugar Land, Texas. He is fellowship trained in both spine surgery and hip and knee replacement, and he cares for adults and children with problems of the spine, joints, and limbs.
He completed his spine surgery fellowship at UC Davis, which included pediatric spine surgery at Shriners Children’s, and his adult reconstruction fellowship in hip and knee replacement at Yale, where he also taught as a clinical instructor. Before that, he trained in orthopedic surgery at Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.
Because he trained in both fields, he can evaluate the back, hip, and knee together. That matters when it isn’t clear where the pain is coming from. His current research looks at how the hip and spine affect each other after hip replacement and spine fusion.
